Newcastle Weekly has covered Eden Estates’ last-minute cancellation of a planned meeting with representatives of the Link Road Forest Campaign.
Campaign spokesperson Ian McKenzie told the publication that the community deserved an opportunity to discuss the serious issues surrounding the proposed development, including its 20-year construction period, increased traffic on Link Road, lack of important community infrastructure and the destruction of one of the region’s last substantial unprotected forests.
The article also highlights our call for the NSW Government to choose a different future for the site by protecting Link Road Forest as public conservation land, alongside treasured places such as Blackbutt Reserve and Glenrock State Conservation Area.
