We’re very excited to announce For the Forest, a special night of live music, speakers, pizza and trivia in support of the campaign to save Link Road Forest.
Made possible by an amazing group of people stepping up for the forest, the event will be hosted by Save Link Road Forest and THEYDY’S on Awabakal and Worimi Country.
The event comes at a crucial time, leading into the final week of the campaign’s Parliamentary e-petition to the NSW Upper House. The petition, calling for the permanent protection of Link Road Forest, closes on Friday 14 August.
Pete Gillam from the Awabakal Descendants Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation will open the evening with a Welcome to Country. Speakers will also include Ian McKenzie from the Link Road Forest Campaign.

Bilby Queen
Bilby Queen, formerly known as Frog Impostor, is an unpredictable Muloobinbah-based prog-folk four-piece. Blending acoustic music with electronic sounds, they create a lyrical and surprising collision of folk, jazz, electronica, dub and drum and bass.
Kellie Cain
Kellie Cain is a modern-day troubadour who has wandered the world singing songs of life, love and longing.

The Imperfections
Bringing together musicians from Brazil, Brisbane, Sydney and Newcastle, The Imperfections serve up indie rock influenced by everything from hardcore to dream pop.
With echoes of Violent Soho, Pixies, Mildlife, Propagandhi, Millencolin and My Bloody Valentine, the four-piece features Andre Santos on edgy rhythm guitar, Jared Miles on bass, Dave DeLore on riffs and Sylvia DeNardi on vocals.
The band embraces the idea that creativity and life are beautifully flawed: from imperfections, music is born.
Joint Effort
Joint Effort is an exciting new Australian duo blending the infectious melodies of pop with the heartfelt storytelling of folk music. Their songs explore social justice, equality and real-world issues, delivered with passion and authenticity.
Two Voices in the Crowd
Two Voices in the Crowd are Kathy and Matthew Clarke, performing songs of love, hope and caring for the environment and one another. Kathy’s stunning vocal clarity is supported by Matthew’s gentle guitar style, creating an uplifting experience in the folk tradition.
Food, drinks, trivia and campaign merchandise
Along with a brilliant line-up of live music and speakers, the night will include campaign trivia and an opportunity to pick up some Save Link Road Forest merchandise.
Come hungry: Bellicanta’s legendary sourdough pizza will be available throughout the night, along with food from Food Not Bombs.
The venue is BYO, with drinks also available on site.
