We’re preparing for a 12-month campaign to stop the rezoning of 574 hectares of land which includes Lower Hunter Spotted Gum – Ironbark Forest Endangered Ecological Community (EEC) spanning Newcastle (71%) and Lake Macquarie (29%). The land is identified as containing many preferred koala feed trees. There are koala rescue records for this beautiful forest, showing they live there. Clearing native forest means climate change and species extinction.
